Full Harness: Keys to obtaining and managing Super Lawyers ratings

Sep 16th, 2015 | Law Firm Marketing, Legal Marketing in Brief, Uncategorized

My partner, Amber Vincent, just gave a webinar about how to fully harness Super Lawyers® and maximize rankings. Our client’s marketing partner, Susan Trent, a creditors’ rights and workout attorney at Rothberg Logan & Warsco in Fort Wayne, Indiana, took notes as she listened. I’ve combined those with our thoughts below:

  • Super Lawyers – Top 5% of vote recipients in your state
  • Rising Stars – next 2.5% within 10 years less of practice/age 40 years or younger
  • Super Lawyers allows 21 nominations for each attorney voting
  • Nominate 7 within your own firm
  • Nominate 7 outside your own firm
  • Nominate 7 Rising Stars
  • It can be difficult to become a Super Lawyer rather than a Rising Star if you are younger than 40 or in practice 10 years or less
  • Nominations made within your firm must have an equal or greater number of nominations for attorneys outside of your firm
  • It is more valuable to receive external votes rather than internal votes; however, soliciting nominations is strictly prohibited
  • Vote trading is highly frowned upon and monitored through Super Lawyers’ proprietary software
  • Update your profile every single year-this is critical. If you have fallen off the Super Lawyers list, you probably haven’t updated or completed your bio (login at my.superlawyers.com)

If you need help, contact Amber Vincent, who gives our clients webinars about the leading ratings and rankings (think Chambers USA®, Best Lawyers® and Martindale.com®) along with using LinkedIn® effectively.  Her email is vincent@themarketinggurus.com.
